I met Larry when I created the former Museum of Funeral Customs in Springfield, and his support for our work and his willingness to teach ensured that our curator and I could properly understand and present Jewish funeral rituals to museum visitors in an authorative way. His PR experience was invaluable as we sought to promote the facility devoted to his profession. Despite the museum's closing in 2008, Larry and I remained in contact as I moved to the position of cemetery manager and to my current position as a non-profit organization leader. Whenever I've presented educational programs in the Chicago area, Larry was in the audience with a huge smile, taking photos and offering kudos and encouragement. He was a true friend and mentor, and my life was enriched having known him for sixteen years. He will be sorely missed. Rest in Peace, dear friend.

But after we were older, and I had moved from Chicago, we were able to get closer, and I had made it a priority to see him on my recent visits to Chicago. Condolence: Sue Ann everytime Larry spoke about you it was obvious how much he loved you and your life together. He couldn't wait for your vacation to Hawaii in June. Just before you left Larry made sure every detail was taken care of while holding my hand in preparation of my husband's funeral in Wisconsin after passing away here in Illinois. It was his thoughtfulness and love for the people he worked with at the most difficult moments that endeared you to Larry. The love and support you gave Larry while he recuperated from his surgeries showed all who know the 2 of you the deep love and respect you shared. I will miss Larry and I will always remember his kindness. I am here for you to hold your hand. Sending love to you, your children and your entire family.

Condolence: It is with much sadness and a heavy heart that I write these words. I still don't want to believe that Larry is gone. I worked with Larry at Pisers for many years. I thought of him not only as a friend and Co worker but he's was like a second Dad to me. He always looked out for me and was always available for a pep talk words of wisdom encouragement a great big hug or a helping hand. He was a great person to be around and I enjoyed listening to his stories about his life, family, accomplishments, travels and history. Larry was a walking encyclopedia. But most of all he loved people. He loved the interactions of people and dealing with people. Larry use to call himself the cruise director and he say just relax and let the cruise director handle it. I will miss him immensely and will never forget his kindness and his caring heart and passion for perfection. My heart goes out to his family at this very difficult time.

Condolence: Dear Sue Ann, There are some people for whom a condolence message simply seems to fall short. Larry was a giant among men. A true spirit filled with love, kindness, generosity, compassion, and joy who lived his life with gusto and made his mark among the righteous. For those of us who traveled the years with Larry...from College Hill days through our recent 50th HS reunion...he was always the one constant. The one we all knew we could depend upon to light the way. I know how hard you worked to get him to slow down, but that was like trying to stop a force of nature, or tie Jello to a tree. Whether Larry filled each and every day them with a zest and enthusiasm that magnified each and every moment. Whether reinventing himself through a new business, building a new home, scuba diving, or flaunting that wonderful bowtie at the Reunion, his impish nature delighted all who knew him. Words don't suffice in expressing my deepest condolences. I know that you have lost the love of your life, and best friend. I can only hug you from afar.
