I was Rich’s first Company Commander in the Army at Fort Hood, Texas. My heart bleeds hearing this news. Rich was a much loved and respected platoon leader. I was honored to be the first Commander he had in the Army. He always mad me smile. So sad.

I'm so heartbroken with the passing of my friend and battle buddy. My deepest sympathy and condolences go out to all of his family, friends, and comrades.

I served with Rich for nearly 3 years at Fort Hood. He was a remarkable officer, logistician, and person. He could always make you smile even when work or stress were very difficult.

Words cannot truly express how much Rich meant to me and how much I appreciated his friendship. I will never forget him but i will always miss him.

Rest now, my friend and brother. Make them smile in Heaven like you made so many smile on Earth.

I was very saddened to read of the passing of Brother Lazik, and my thoughts & prayers are with his family, friends, and chapter brothers. While I never had the honor of meeting him in person, Ritchie and I are brothers of Sigma Phi Epsilon (SigEp) and friends on Facebook, and he was always there to offer advice and assistance. I pledge that the SigEp Patriots Project (SPP) will always remember him, his life, and his patriotic service. Rest easy, Brother. We have the watch.
