Condolences

Condolence From: Eric Werth
Condolence: I just learned the tragic news days ago when I called for appointment. I knew Boris for 18 years all the way back to when he worked for Dominick in that Deerfield mall. Boris was admirable for his strong free spirit and self-made success. He started with nothing - he told me he took a bus from Ukraine but it dropped him off far from where he had to go - the beginning on a long journey. Haircuts with Boris were a one constant in life that I always looked forward too. May God bless his family. I will always miss you Boris.

Condolence: I must be the last person to learn about Boris' tragic death. Today I called to schedule a haircut with him and heard the terrible news. Then I read the news stories about the accident, which made it all the more upsetting. I can't imagine what his family is feeling. But rather than dwell on that senseless tragedy, let me offer my condolences to Boris' family and say a few words about this good person we lost. Boris was a funny guy with a piercing sense of humor, sometime dark, which I found refreshing after a long day at the office. I enjoyed hearing his stories about hockey, growing up in Ukraine, the barbershop, his family, his dog, and his motorcycle trips. The motorcycle stories, especially, were a fascinating view into another world I knew nothing about. With every haircut I came away feeling I had learned something new. He'd been cutting my hair for at least 15 years, taking over after Dominick passed away. Boris is 7 years my junior ... much too early to leave this world. Rest in peace, Boris.

Condolence: I was... stunned only yesterday to learn of Boris' profoundly untimely passing. I had the good fortune to meet Boris when he joined Dominic and since that time [approximately 20 years ago] Boris was the only person whose barber-chair I'd sit in. Boris began cutting my son's hair when my son was a tyke and he'd drive in from out of state while away at college to have Boris cut his hair. I've enjoyed many an hour discussing football [soccer to the uninformed], hockey, shooting-sports, cars, our families, etc., with Boris and I'll miss him dearly. Boris was a mensch. His migration from Ukraine, to Germany and, ultimately, to the United States wasn't the easiest, but, he persevered and prospered through his own efforts and the support of his wife. He often expressed his pride in his daughter. Of course, his K-9 buddy was often found at his side and I'm sure he's going to miss those walks together. I'm so sorry for Boris' family, friends, clients and acquaintances; he will be missed!
