Milton Campbell

LTC Lazik was my Battalion Commander while I was stationed at Camp Carroll in Waegwan, Republic of Korea. I don’t think I fully appreciated how much he did for me while I was in command of his Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, I see now that he stuck his neck out for me on several occasions and always had my best interest in mind. You cannot always say that about leaders. LTC Lazik was a personable leader that was fair and easy to talk to. I found it very comforting knowing that I could approach him with anything that was on my mind, or advice on how to handle a situation. LTC Lazik and I shared quirky senses of humor and he gave me a lot of leeway in running my company the way I felt was best. I can honestly say he supported all of my decisions from my pricey company t-shirt to running the Thunder God Olympics. Command was hands down the best 18 months of my military career, and the majority of it was under LTC Lazik’s watch. I will always appreciate your leadership and strive to take care of my Soldiers as you took care of me. Rest in peace, sir… brother.
