Obituary for Ann Penner (Neistein)

Ann Penner, nee Neistein, 93, of The Woodlands, TX passed away peacefully on November 7, 2023. Ann was born January 25, 1930, in Chicago, IL. Beloved wife of the late Martin, devoted mother of Sandra (Andrew) Remson, the late Mitchell Brachman, and Steven (Mara) Brachman. Loving grandmother to Leland (Rebecca) Remson, Hillary (Sairam) Pathi, Ian (Katri) Remson and Cole Brachman. Proud great-grandmother of Gavriel, Eliana, Enzo and Ariah. Fond sister of the late Harry (Molly) Neistein, the late Morris (Bernice) Neistein, the late Ted (Charna) Neistein, the late Sue (Ed) Wikoff. Dear Aunt and Great-Aunt to many. Ann taught for 21 years at Jane Stenson School in Skokie, IL. After retiring, Ann was a daily volunteer at Oasis for 22 years, a volunteer at Northbrook Library, and was active with the North Shore Folk Dancers and many other organizations. Ann received the 2007 Outstanding Volunteer Award from the Northbrook, IL. Civic Foundation. Ann loved the outdoors. Her favorite memories were skiing, riding her many horses, or travelling and hiking with the love of her life, Marty. Later in life, she thoroughly enjoyed numerous family cruises with her children and grandchildren. Graveside funeral Friday, November 10th, 1:30 PM at Shalom Memorial Parke, Wilke Rd North of Rand Rd., Arlington Heights.
