Aryeh Kitzes, aged 77, beloved husband of Ludmila “Lusha”, nee Bobula; cherished father of Adam (Daphne) Kitzes, Aviva Bollinger, Michael Demczuk, and Catherine (Alex) Theis, loving grandfather of Carter, Elise, Ellie, Ivy, Tabitha and Maibelyn, and treasured friend to many, passed away on Saturday, May 16th or the 22nd of Iyar.
Aryeh led a long and fruitful life, starting in New York City before moving to Israel and ultimately settling in Evanston IL. Throughout his life he enjoyed traveling, working, and surrounding himself with family and friends. After learning to play the piano at a young age, he was privileged to spend the later years of his life playing chamber music with other talented musicians; some of whom he met through Sherwood Music Conservatory, the North Shore Music Club, and through other friends. Aryeh was a generous man, always looking for opportunities to support others, no matter how well he knew them. One of his fondest contributions was by bringing together his love of music with his philanthropic attributes by playing piano at a local Evanston soup kitchen each month...for 10 years.
Private graveside services are necessary, however, family and friends are welcome and encouraged to participate online by linking to Aryeh’s webpage at www.mitzvahfunerals.com live on Monday May 18th at 4pm, or anytime thereafter. Info Mitzvah Memorial Funerals 630-MITZVAH (630-648-9824).
