It is with great sadness that my sister Essie died at Glenbrook Hospital on Jan 7th just 20 days short of her 88th birthday. She was funny, had a mind set of her own and an adventurous shopper at Mariano's. She loved her Cubbies, her license plate was "My Cubs 1." Before she retired, she was a hematology technician at the now defunct Bethesda, Edgewater and Skokie Valley Hospitals. She loved our Thanksgiving gatherings and said " it was the best meal she'd had all year" because she was in the company of those she loved and who loved her. Her best day of the week was the day she went to have her manicures. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Evelyn Stein, her brother Jerome (Joyce) Stein, her sister Bernice (Irving) Doniger. She leaves her best friend and sister Shirle (Sheldon) Wasserman, her loving and special nephew Bruce (Alison) Meyer and their children Becca, Brett, and Evan and her niece Holli (Andy) McLain.
