Obituary for Lee Bert Marks

Lee Bert Marks, age 91, of Deerfield. Beloved husband for more than 66 years to Arlyn, nee Aaronson; Cherished father to Leslie King (Tom Akers) and Jim (Katie); devoted son of the late Henry H. And Selma (Caplan) Marks; loving son-in-law to the late Tex and Helene Aaronson; proud and doting grandfather to David King, Danny King (G. “Max” Maxin IV), Hannah Marks (Parker Shorey) and Alison Marks; beloved brother-in-law to Richard Aaronson (Joan Freedman) and “unc” to Steve and Lisa Aaronson and Tracy Wheeler; close cousin to many through his life who loved telling stories about their Chicago childhood. Born and raised in a close-knit multigenerational family in the Albany Park neighborhood of Chicago, raised his family in Wilmette and Northbrook. Spent many years keeping warm in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Fought off cancer three times and lived with other chronic illnesses much longer than any doctor predicted. Lifelong dream fulfilled when the Cubs won the series on his 84th birthday. Funeral service Friday, February 23rd, 1 pm at Beth Hillel Synagogue, 3220 Big Tree Lane, Wilmette.
