Muriel Fishman nee Fox, beloved wife of the late Bernard (Bernie) Fishman. loving mother of Deborah (David Booth) Shames, Marci (Michael) Shames-Yeakel, and Steven Shames; Adored grandmother to Joshua Shames-Yeakel, and Larissa Berringer. Cherished great grandmother of Leo and Evelyn Joyce Berringer. Stepmother to Clive (Elaine) Fishman and Shelly (Bill) Richman. Great step grandmother to Randy Fishman, Matthew, Stephanie Richman. She was an athlete who grew up horseback riding on the North Side of Chicago, an avid ice skater and a budding artist who was offered a scholarship to the Art Institute but had to turn that down to help with her family. She was both gentle and sweet, but also incredibly strong-willed and resilient. Mickey made everyone feel special and brighter with her warm, friendly smile and her love of conversation. She was a role-model and matriarch to her family and close associates – and that unforgettable smile of hers lives on in the faces of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by all who came under her spell. Private graveside services are necessary due to health concerns.
