Obituary for Sheila Joy Begun (Leibovitz)

Sheila Joy Begun (Leibovitz)
Sheila Joy Begun’s, (nee Leibovitz) spirit went to soar with the angels on Monday, March 19, 2018. Born in Chicago on February 15th, she was 77 years old. She boasted being the first successful open heart surgery in Chicago to repair a congenital hole in her heart.
She joins her beloved husband of almost 5 decades, Myron (Mike) and her parents William (Bill) & Dolly Leibovitz and siblings, Alan and Sherry.
Sheila Bear, as she was lovingly known for, lived a full life of travel with her husband and friends and eating great meals with her family. She loved television, especially soap operas and the cooking channel, and talking on the phone to her aunts, cousins and loyal friends, especially Danny, Jimmy, Rose and Melissa. Sheila loved Neil Diamond, Bon Jovi and Roy Orbison among other great musicians. She was a great dancer, known for her "shimmy". She served in the Loyal Order of Moose for over three decades.
Her wish to come back to Chicago to live with her unselfish brother-in-law, Steve, came exactly one year ago. Sadly, She was diagnosed with pelvic cancer shortly after arriving to her beloved city.
She was spoiled in a beautiful loving home by Steve who made a promise to his wife, Sherry, to care for her sister. Sheila laughed much with her nieces and nephews living in the same building.
She reconnected with many visitors in her last year but her great niece, K'noelle is what really gave her joy. Journeycare hospice provided a dedicated support team with Erica as her VERY favorite and Tami too. 💕
She is survived by her daughter Sari Ann Monaco, son-in-law Greg (her hero) and grandchildren Talia, Jory and Richie.
