Verdelle J. Widegren was born in Woodstock, Illinois. She began her pursuit of life-long learning by earning a Master of Science degree from Northeastern Illinois University. Professionally, she became a teacher and administrator for Chicago Public Schools. Personally, she educated her nieces on the importance of computer literacy, engaged them in summer science experiments and educational activities. Verdelle enjoyed spending time transforming many family recordings into newer technologies, researching genealogy and many creative hobbies. She is predeceased by her parents and brother; she is survived by her brother Richard, her nieces Sarah (Francesco), Erika (Jeremy) and her great-niece Mason. She was brilliant, loving, caring, devoted, funny and strong-willed throughout her life. A private memorial will be held by her family.
