I am very sorry to hear about Don’s death. I met him in the 70’s when walking my dog at Warren Park. We became friends along with several dog owners. Patti and Michael (Desdemona and Othello), Sue and Darby, me and Duchess, Mike and Rohan, Gayle and Mac and of course Tok and Balta. I remember many birthday dinners and many walks in the park in all kinds of weather. As a matter of fact on the way to my 30th birthday dinner I fell out of Don’s moving car on Ridge in Rodgers Park. There were 3 of us in the front seat and all of a sudden the door flew open and there I was on the street next to the curb. Luckily I was able to get back in the car within a few minutes. I remember Don and Sue laughing hysterically and I joined in when I got back in. I’m 72 now so it was a long time ago, but it did turn out to be a memorable birthday. I’m in KC now and became friends with Don on FB in the past few years and enjoyed his posts about Trump.

So very sad at Don’s passing but very grateful for time spent at the Mather reunion luncheon catching up on his wonderful work with wolves and sharing our love for all things canine. Don was a positive part of so many lives; may he Rest In Peace. Until we meet again....

'was stunned to learn of Don's passing; and I've no words to express my most sincere condolences to Susan. 'am sure there are many-many others who feel as I and more than a few Huskies out there that will be howling at the moon. 'was fortunate to have had Don as a friend and will miss him greatly.

Dear Susan, Thank you for allowing us to mourn with you today and “be with you and family” in real-time, even if it was from a distance online. We’re so grateful.
I can always conjure up the sound of Don’s voice and laugh. His memory is associated with many wonderful memories that will always be with me, and so many others. So, his presence will always be here. We pray for some of the healing that time can bring you so eventually your memories may bring you more comfort and joy than grief. Love, Myla (& Brian)
