Donna Lee Oesterreicher, nee Alspector, age 88, of Phoenix, AZ, formerly of Wilmette. Loving wife of the late Edwin “Ed” for 64 years. Caring and proud mom of Jill Gilford, Jim, Jay and Jody Oesterreicher; adoring grandmother of Ben (Casey), Jackie, and Lauryn Gilford, Jamie and Skylar Oesterreicher and great-grandchild Charlie; preceded in death by her beloved parents Herbert and Gertrude Alspector and darling brother Michael; Aunt of Brian (Jen) and Robbie (Marcia) Alspector. Donna grew up in Peoria, IL and was always grateful for those years which were the cornerstones of her life. She learned her work ethic and her sense of style by working in her dad’s lady’s clothing store from the time that she was 15. Donna continued her education at the U. of IL., moved to Chicago where she worked for Liberty Mutual Ins. Co. After marrying Ed, they moved to Wilmette to raise their children. Once their children started school, Donna went back to work part time in sales at Women’s clothing stores. She then decided to try real estate sales where she naturally excelled. She loved her job and worked in real estate for 28 years on the North Shore. She retired when she was 81. Donna loved her family foremost. Her series of female poodles and her yorkie-poo, coco, who just passed a few months ahead of her. She found joy in her art classes, book discussion, movie classes in nature and her garden. She truly enjoyed traveling the world with her favorite traveling companion, her husband Ed. Donna was a lifelong democrat and liberal in her beliefs and actions. She always tried her best to be a good example for her children and we will miss her presence in our lives. An inurnment memorial service will take place in the spring of 2023.
