Like a Grandfather

Where do I even begin to talk about how wonderful Bob was?!?! I have known Bob my whole life and he has been very much like a Grandfather figure to me. We moved from Chicago when I was very little but the relationship he and Goldie had with our family continued no matter where we were. I would remember getting a phone call every Sunday morning just about the same time each Sunday and we knew it was Bob and Goldie calling. They would come to visit us here in North Carolina any time they could and I have so many fond memories of all of their visits. Probably one of my favorite was when I was about 11 or 12 and I would use those yard stakes that you use to help keep tomatoes up as a baton and practice my skills. Bob and Goldie came down one summer and Bob would stay in the back yard with me and use one of those stakes and twirl with me. He was a wonderful man who showed me and my family unconditional love and I will miss him very much. I am so thankful for all the wonderful memories I have of him and I will cherish them for the rest of my life.
