Ross Trevor Smith, 63, resident of Florence, SC, formerly of Chicago, IL and Fort Wayne, IN. Son of the late Grahame & Julia Smith of the United Kingdom, passed away suddenly while on vacation in Italy with his cherished wife Patti Smith (nee Ozell). Beloved father of Julia Smith, adoring grandad of Nolan Smith. Loving brother of Lisa, Gregory and Christopher Smith, Sheri (Thomas) Utzig and Robert Ozell. Dear uncle of Todd, Chad and Kimberly Utzig. Fond nephew of Eileen Stower; cousin of Amanda (Ian) Stewart and Kevin Stower. An accomplished insurance executive for over 40 years. Compassionate relative and friend who captivated all those he knew with his big heart and generosity. A Celebration of Ross’ life will take place Saturday, October 24, 2015, at Kelley & Spalding Funeral Home, 1787 Deerfield Road, Highland Park.
