I have wonderful memories associated with my Uncle Maurie . . . words can't express my thoughts or feelings now, or clear the lump in my throat as I write. As a child, I watched the front door and scanned faces around the house at family occasions to make sure Maurie and Edie were there. Visiting the Schneider home in Lincolnwood was a treat. I remember sitting around the dining room table and talking to people in different rooms of their house - never a lull in conversation, always interesting news or stories to hear. I was in awe of this man in our family who actually flew an airplane! My bat mitzvah was especially meaningful with them present. And later, while learning about stocks/commodities in school, I learned that my uncle actually had a seat on the exchange. Most recently, at one of the Yager bar mitzvahs, it was lovely hearing the story of Maurie and Edie's courtship . . . one never tires of a love story. To immediate family: he will be missed, and I hope family, friends, and those special stories will help us all through this difficult time.
